Selection of American K-12 Outstanding Chinese Works 2023

About the Student
I am a thirteen-year-old 7th grader at Mark Twain Middle School. For eight years and counting, I
have been working hard to improve my Chinese skills. The reason I learn Chinese is to gain an
understanding of various cultures and, in the future, help others understand my own. In my free
time, I enjoy playing the guitar, rowing dragon boats, drawing, and reading.
Assignment Guidelines (Instructor: Liping Ye 叶 丽 萍 )
Students have been studying units on themes related to food culture, development, and the
environment in a changing world recently. They are expected to apply the vocabulary they have
learned from the textbook to express their opinions on a topic they select individually. There are
six topics to choose from. Students are expected to use idiomatic sentences, transition words, and
sentence structures to effectively articulate their viewpoints. Each paragraph of the essay should
include topic sentences, elaborated details, and natural conclusions.

注 意 一 下 连 接 词 的 使 用 , 比 如 , 第 二 段 用 了 “ 首 先 ”, 那 么 可 以 在 同 段 的 “ 如 果 食 品 全 球 化 ”
