die multinationalen Firmen beginnen,
sich für den Biosektor zu interessieren,
könnte, so IFOAM-Geschäftsführer
Bernward Geier (2000), darauf
hinweisen, dass der Biosektor derzeit
nicht nur einen sehr großen Aufschwung
erfährt, sondern noch viel mehr –
nämlich eine Art „Big Bang“.
Abschließend stellt die ITC-Studie fest,
dass der Markt für ökologische
Lebensmittel in den meisten
entwickelten Ländern rasch wächst. Der
Anteil von Bioprodukten am
Gesamtmarkt ist in allen Ländern noch
klein, aber mehrere Trends weisen
darauf hin, dass es noch ein erhebliches
Entwicklungspotenzial gibt. Zu nennen
ist die Tatsache, dass Verbraucher sich
vermehrt für Fragen der Umwelt und
Gesundheit interessieren, weiterhin, dass
die Supermarktketten eine sehr
zielorientierte Vermarktungsstrategie
fahren und intensiv für Bioprodukte
werben. Weitere positive Faktoren, die
die weltweite Nachfrage nach
Bioprodukten erhöhen werden, sind
Innovationen im Bereich Verarbeitung
und Verpackung sowie Unterstützung
durch die Regierungen (ITC 1999).
26
Bernward Geier of IFOAM, these
examples of multinationals entering
the organic sector can be seen as an
indicator that the organic sector may
face even more than a boom,
something like a ”big bang” (Geier
2000).
The ITC-study concludes that the
organic food and beverages market
is growing rapidly in most developed
countries. The share of organic
foodstuffs is still small in all of these
markets, but several trends point to
significant scope of growth:
consumers are increasingly aware of
health and environmental issues and
major retail groups are carrying out
aggressive marketing and promotion
for organic products. Other positive
factors that help to increase the
international demand are product
development and packaging
innovations by food manufacturers,
as well as supportive government
policy in many countries (ITC 1999).
5.4. Zertifizierung, staatliche Gesetzgebungen, internationale
Harmonisierung -
Certification, State Regulations and International
Harmonisation
Eine große Bedeutung für das weitere
Wachstum der globalen
Ökolandbaufläche und des
internationalen Marktes für Bioprodukte
hat die Durchsetzung weltweit
einheitlicher Standards.
Of considerable importance for
further growth of land under organic
management and the global market
is the implementation of harmonised
world-wide standards for organic
agriculture.
