6. Ökologischer Landbau nach Kontinenten -
Organic Agriculture in the Continents
6.1. Afrika – Africa
6.1.1. Überblick - General
Die Grüne Revolution hatte in Afrika
nur begrenzten Erfolg, und
Agrochemikalien werden bis heute
südlich der Sahara nur verhalten
eingesetzt. Obwohl beim Anbau
mancher Produkte - zum Beispiel
Baumwolle in Zimbabwe - Pestizide in
erheblichem Umfang verwendet werden,
kann man davon ausgehen, dass der
überwiegende Teil der
landwirtschaftlichen Produktion den
Richtlinien des ökologischen Landbaus
entspricht. Die Produkte werden jedoch
nur selten zertifiziert und über
konventionelle Vermarktungswege
(national und international) abgesetzt.
Daher liegt für Afrika auch kaum
statistisches Material vor.
The Green Revolution has had
limited success in Africa, and the use
of agrochemicals has remained low
in sub-Saharan Africa. Even though
for some products (e.g. cotton in
Zimbabwe) agrochemicals are used
it can generally be assumed that a
lot of the agricultural production
complies with the standards for
organic agriculture. But this
production is rarely certified, and it is
sold on conventional markets,
nationally and internationally. This
explains, why there is hardly any
statistical material for Africa.
