2. Should "blacklisted" pesticides be detected by the authorities or companies in the foodproduce<br />
chain or in the environment, effective measures to end contamination from them must be<br />
introduced immediately.<br />
3. The pesticides "blacklisted" here should be substituted by processes to protect plants which<br />
are acceptable for health and the environment and wherever possible non-chemical.<br />
4. The great lack of data for many pesticide agents which made it impossible to evaluate roughly<br />
half of the pesticides looked at here must be remedied as soon as possible by obtaining these data<br />
and publishing them. Substances which cannot be evaluated because of such a lack of data<br />
cannot be substitutes for substances known to be hazardous. They ought not to be used as long<br />
as the deficit in data has not been remedied.<br />
