courses are held in English, but students
may also attend regular classes taught to
bucerius students if their knowledge of
german allows. students receive credit
from their home institution for courses
taken at bucerius. The program is divided
into two sessions: from September
5 to October 21 and from October 31 to
December 16, 2011, with a mandatory
orientation Program on September 1 – 2,
2011. The german law survey course is
the only compulsory course and runs over
both sessions. outside of the classroom,
students are invited to participate in an
extensive extracurricular program, including
a five-day study trip to berlin and
Potsdam, guided tours of Hamburg and its
museums, lectures on the current political
situation, as well as many social events.
inTErnaTional EXcHangE Program
oVErViEW
students also have the opportunity to take
german language courses at beginner, intermediate
and advanced levels.
This fall we will be welcoming 110 students
from 53 partner law schools in 24
countries to our international Exchange
Program. This truly international group,
alongside their german counterparts, make
the program itself an exercise in internationalism
through the exchange of legal and
cultural perspectives from around the world.
The international office is supported by
Clifford Chance. furthermore, the law
firms Gleiss Lutz and Latham & Watkins
LLP grant fellowships to our german students
to support their semester abroad.
The Clifford Chance International Office
also offers a four-week bucerius summer
Program in international business law for
german and international students and
young graduates. This program is supported
by Linklaters. in 2011, 39 students
from 19 countries participated in the
program, which took place from July 17
to august 12, 2011. additional information
