Content: The aim of this course is to provi-
de a practical introduction to issues of European
law faced by foreign lawyers and to
discuss the use of foreign law to advocate
change in domestic law. The first part of
the course presents the general functions
and methods of comparative law and introduces
the basic features of the civil law
system as contrasted with the common
law system. The second part analyzes the
trend towards de-nationalization of private
law in Europe resulting from the impact of
Ec legislation on national law.

Content: The lecture on corporate law
consists of two parts. The first is on german
corporate and partnership law and its European
implications; the second pursues a
comparative approach and introduces the
corporate law of romanic countries from a
latin american viewpoint. in addition, students
consider the legal and practical concepts
of corporations and partnerships.
