1.10 Global Demand of NLO material
The NLO materials crystals have placed themselves as one of the fore
runners at technology front. As per one estimate the total market for NLO
materials in the year 2000 was $ 425.3 million and was expected to achieve
$11,244 million in 2005 [112]. According to another survey the market for NLO
materials would reach to $1.66 Billion in 2009 and out of which KDP, ADP,
and other crystals would have a share of $15.6 million [113]. A compilation of
market demand in the year 2009 is shown in Table (1.5). Other NLO materials
include for example KDP, KD*P, BBO, LBO, CLBO, ZGP, tungsten, etc.
