What will I study?
An introduction to the construction industry is studied over four units and is trade specific,
you will study:
Personal work skills » The safe handling of materials in industry » Health on safety on site »
Carry out operations
Moving on
All successful students will get the opportunity to progress onto a trade specific full Level 1
construction course which will be in either:
Wood occupations » Trowel trades Painting and decorating occupations » Plastering or Wall
& Floor Tiling Level 2 » Employment opportunities could include an apprenticeship in your
chosen trade area.

Certificate in introduction to construction industry (16 –18 year olds only)
