Qualifi cation<br />

CACHE Level 2 Intermediate for the Children & Young People’s Workforce (QCF) England<br />

CACHE Level 3 Advanced for the Children & Young People’s Workforce (QCF) England<br />

What will I study?<br />

This course will give you the opportunity to work with children and young people on a daily<br />

basis – making a real difference to their development of social and interactive skills. The<br />

training will include Play, Communications, safeguarding & development of children and<br />

generally understanding the role of childcare in the community. You will be required to<br />

attend College or the The Ark for one day a week to complete the Key Skills elements of the<br />

programme (or one afternoon/evening for the advanced Apprenticeship). The gathering of<br />

evidence towards the NVQ portfolio and the assessment will take place in the workplace at<br />

College/The Ark.<br />

Moving on<br />

Having completed your Apprenticeship at Level 2 you can now move on to the Advanced<br />

Apprenticeship. Once you have completed the Advanced Apprenticeship and qualifi ed there<br />

are many opportunities for you to follow a career in childcare and other related employment<br />

e.g. Playwork, Nursing, Teaching Assistants and Social Work.<br />

Qualifi cation<br />

Apprenticeship Level 2 and Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 Customer Service<br />

What will I study?<br />

Apprentices will be in a customer based environment offering products and services to<br />

meet and exceed the client’s needs, dealing with enquiries, queries and requests. This<br />

could be face to face, by telephone or other communication methods so a calm, friendly and<br />

professional manner is essential. Level 3 (advanced) Apprentices will assume responsibility<br />

for planning and organisation of their work, using their initiative in problem solving and<br />

developing customer relations to the benefi t of the organisation. You will attend College for<br />

one day a week to complete your Technical Certifi cate and Functional Skills elements of the<br />

programme. The NVQ assessment and portfolio building with take place in the workplace.<br />

Moving on<br />

Having your apprenticeship you can now complete your Advanced Apprenticeship which in<br />

turn could lead to a Foundation Degree or related employment.<br />
