Qualification<br />

CSkills (Construction Skills) Diploma Level 1 in Trowel Occupations<br />

What will I study?<br />

This is a practical and theory based course which consists of you working through a number of<br />

work based units. Some of these units are:<br />

Know how to carry out safe working practices in construction » Knowledge of building<br />

methods and construction technology » Carry out basic block laying » Know how to carry<br />

out basic cavity walling » Know how to contribute to setting out and building basic masonry<br />

structures up to damp course Level » Information, quantities and communicating with others<br />

There are 8 units in total to complete which includes an external test at the end of the course.<br />

At the end of this qualification you will have a good degree of knowledge on Brickwork.<br />

Moving on<br />

All successful students may have the opportunity to progress onto a Brickwork diploma Level<br />

2 or an NVQ Level 2 through the work based evidence route. Employment opportunities could<br />

include an apprenticeship in your chosen trade area.<br />

will be able to work on site.<br />

Moving on<br />

All successful students may have the opportunity to progress onto a Brickwork diploma<br />

level 3 or an NVQ level 3 through the work based evidence route. Employment opportunities<br />

could include an apprenticeship in your chosen trade area. Many have chosen to become self<br />

employed at this stage due to the knowledge they have gained form the course.<br />
