What will I study?<br />
This is a practical course, some of the course units are:<br />
Know how to carry out safe working practices in construction » Erect and dismantle access<br />
equipment and working platforms » Know how to apply waterborne paint systems using<br />
high volume low pressure (HVLP) spray equipment » Apply paint systems by brush and roller<br />
» Prepare for and paint fl ush doors and hang wallpaper (Practical Synoptic Assignment)<br />
» Prepare for and decorate a room including doors and balustrades » Produce specialist<br />
decorative fi nishes<br />
There are 12 units in total to complete which includes an external test at the end of the course.<br />
At the end of this qualifi cation you will be considered fully qualifi ed at advanced Level.<br />
Moving on<br />
All successful students may have the opportunity to progress onto Painting and Decorating<br />
Occupations NVQ Level 3. Employment opportunities could include an apprenticeship in your<br />
chosen trade area.<br />

CSkills (Construction Skills) NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Decorative Occupations<br />
What will I study?<br />
This qualifi cation is based solely on site in your chosen trade area. You will produce and NVQ<br />
portfolio based on the work you complete whilst in employment. Some of the units that you<br />
will complete are:<br />
Conform to General Workplace Safety » Erect and Dismantle Access/Working Platforms<br />
» Prepare Surfaces for Painting/Decorating » Apply Paint Systems by Brush and Roller »<br />
Conform to Effi cient Work Practices » Move and Handle Resources<br />
You will be regularly visited on site by a College assessor who will assist you in gathering the<br />
needed evidence to prove competence.<br />
Moving on<br />
All successful students may have the opportunity to progress onto Painting and Decorating<br />
Occupations NVQ Level 3 through the work based evidence route.<br />
