City & Guilds 2000 Access to Building Services Engineering Level 1<br />
What will I study?<br />
Need some practical experience to make a career decision?<br />
This 1-year introductory qualification covers 4 areas of building services engineering;<br />
plumbing, electrotechnical, heating & ventilating and refrigeration & air conditioning.<br />
You’ll find out what you enjoy, and get a head start on your next qualification - helping you<br />
move on to a career.<br />
This qualification is for people thinking about a career in buildings services engineering -<br />
perhaps working as an electrician or a plumber.<br />
Moving on<br />
You could progress on to an Electrical NVQ and further study is available for the 17th Edition<br />
Wiring Regulations or C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing.<br />

Qualification<br />
Electrical Installation Engineering Diploma (City & Guilds 2357 incorporating the NVQ and<br />
the AM2)<br />
What will I study?<br />
With the help of your experienced instructors you will learn all the hands on skills and theory<br />
required to achieve the standard of a fully qualified Electrician. This will include aspect<br />
of domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural installation that are aimed at today’s<br />
installers with emphasis on the newer solar photo-voltaic (PV solar panels) and related<br />
renewable energy technologies!<br />
You will simulate real life installation activities and through online and on-site assessments<br />
along with coursework and building a portfolio you will show employers that you have the<br />
skills needed to be a valued part of the workforce.<br />
Moving on<br />
You will be an excellent position to take on short courses such as the C&G 2382 (BSEN 7671)<br />
17th Edition of the wiring regulations and the C&G 2391 Inspection, test and commission<br />
electrical systems, which employers are looking for in today’s versatile workforce. Further<br />
to this you may wish to look at management courses in the building, construction and<br />
engineering industries.<br />
