What will I study?<br />
This is a BTEC introductory programme which is a practical and work-related course. You learn<br />
by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations,<br />
activities and demands. As well as learning about business, retail and administration<br />
disciplines, you will also develop the skills you need to start a career.<br />
The programme comprises of the development of offi ce based skills as well as basic business<br />
disciplines. The travel and tourism element gives students the opportunity to explore this<br />
industry and exposes them to both local and national activities. Throughout the programme<br />
of study, students will also study Workskills, which helps prepare them for work and their<br />
future careers. The focus of the whole programme is to develop transferable skills and<br />
support the students in their numeracy and literacy.<br />

What will I study?<br />
This is a one year BTEC First Diploma designed as a stepping stone towards entering initial<br />
employment in such positions as customer service assistant, offi ce based work or in general<br />
business. You will study a range of exciting and dynamic units in one year, which includes<br />
the following:<br />
Exploring business purposes » People and organisations » Investigating fi nancial control »<br />
Business communication » Exploring business enterprise » Developing customer relations.<br />
