THE ARK
ACADEMY

The Ark is a Private Day Nursery, Out of School and
Holiday Club. Established in 2000 is a provider of the
highest quality childcare in the Calder Valley for children
aged from 0 to 14 years.
Jo Brock and Heidi Bingham set up The Ark to primarily
provide childcare to their own standards for their children.
As part of this vision they were determined to create an
environment that was a fantastic place to work and where
employees felt motivated and enthusiastic.
A key part of motivating Ark employees has been the
promotion of training and development to all staff
members.
In 2007, The Ark Childcare Academy was developed
in conjunction with Calderdale College, to allow an
alternative venue for childcare professionals – available
to those people working at The Ark and also within other
childcare settings.
The Ark is situated in Mytholmroyd providing a choice
of location within Calderdale for childcare students
of all ages. There is a dedicated training room with IT
suite based in newly built premises set in the beautiful
countryside.

CACHE Level 2 Intermediate for the Children & Young
People’s Workforce (QCF) England
CACHE Level 3 Advanced for the Children & Young People’s
Workforce (QCF) England
A limited number of student placements are available which
can be arranged with the Childcare and Training Manager.
