Calia crear un conjunt escultòric per situar a l’entrada de l’aeroport
de Girona-Costa Brava. Vaig fer-ne la composició general,
i en el moment de desenvolupar-la, vaig treballar en
col·laboració amb Torres Monsó. Com sempre, en aquest tipus
d’encàrrecs hi havia urgència i calia anar de pressa, cosa que
perjudica l’aprofundiment i minva les possibilitats de l’obra.
Però aquesta urgència és una circumstància habitual, i per això
cal estar-hi preparat, tenir agilitat per treure’n un partit òptim,
cosa difícil. Ens vàrem repartir la tasca de la peça més
emblemàtica. La dansa la vaig fer néixer d’un dibuix en un pla,
i després es passa al ferro en una planxa gruixuda tallada en
bufador, i forjada i modelada procurant evitar les soldadures.

It is necessary to create a sculptured unity to situate at the
entrance to the airport of Girona-Costa Brava I made the general
composition and at the moment of developing it, I worked in

commissions there was a rush and it was necessary to work fast,
something which profoundly prejudices and reduces the possibilities
of a work. But this urgency is the norm, and so it is necessary
to be prepared, have ability to get the most out of circumstances,
something which is difficult. We shared out the work of
this more emblematic piece: dance, born from a drawing on a
plan, and after made in iron in a thick sheet cut through holes,
and forged and modelled trying to avoid soldering.
