En una obra que s’ha d’integrar en un mitjà determinat, és
important trobar bé la situació i la mida. Això és el primer que
cal fer, i s’ha de realitzar en el mateix lloc i en plànols i maquetes.
Els punts de vista marquen els camps d’interès per arribar
a tots els detalls, tant constructius com expressius.
Es tracta d’un obelisc de 6 m d’alçada, de planta triangular, on
en cada cara es pot veure el tema designat. El motiu era recordar
que pels pilars del nou pont abans passava el tren d’Olot.
La inscripció “Ahir via, pont avui” era definitòria. Calia també,
però, fer referència a les entitats i al constructor.
L’evocació d’una plàstica del món entorn del tren petit i la seva
història és el que vaig procurar representar.

In a work which has to be integrated in a determined medium
it is important to find the situation and size. This is the first
thing that is necessary to be done, and one has to produce it in
the actual place and on plans and models. The points of view
mark the fields of interest to get to all the details, constructive
as well as expressive. It concerns an obelisk of 6m in height, of
triangular base, where on each face one can see the designated
theme. The motive was to remember that through the pillars of
the new bridge the Olot train used to pass. The inscription,
“Yesterday track, today bridge!” was definitive. It was necessary
also though, to make reference to the entities and to the
constructor. The evocation of a plastic of the world surrounding
the little train and its history is what I tried to represent.
