Vaig donar moltes voltes a aquesta peça: la situació, la mida, el
fet de ser una construcció de nova planta, moderna, neta i simple...
Tant amb l’arquitecte, el P. Comes, com amb la comunitat,
hi hagué bona sintonia. L’obra està feta en pedra de
Colmenar, una pedra clara i amb forats. Calia aprofitar bé la
llum lateral, fent que ressaltessin les parts de les formes. El
totxo de fons i la pedra clara amb forats a l’interior aconseguí
una simfonia molt rica de contemplar. Enfront de la simplicitat
de les formes arquitectòniques, l’escultura és una riquesa de
plans clars i foscos. La Marededéu té un aire àgil i elegant, ressaltant
la figura de l’infant pels plecs que ponderen en l’arc el
fill encimbellat.
I thought about this piece a lot: the situation, size, the fact of
being a construction of a new plant, modern, clean and simple.....
With the architect, P. Comes, as well as the community,
there was harmony. The work is made from stone from
Colmenar, a light coloured stone with holes. It was necessary
to take advantage of the lateral light, making the parts of the
form stand out. The brick at the back and the light stone with
holes on the inside achieved the effect of a symphony very rich
to contemplate. Faced with the simplicity of the architectonic
form, the sculpture is a richness of clear and dark planes. The
Mother of God has an agile and elegant air, making the figure
of the child stand out because of the folds that balance on the
arch, the Son set on top.
