Aquest municipi passava a formar part del de Girona, i es va
voler que la Creu, que era de fusta malmesa fruit d’una missió
de l’any 1944, fos substituïda per una de pedra. Vaig deixar que
la pedrera en tragués un sol bloc per, segons la llargada, decidir
les mides. El bloc fou més llarg del que estava previst. Calia
fer una creu que tingués interès visual des de qualsevol punt de
la cruïlla de camins on era situada. Es va gravar el motiu –una
missió, si no recordo malament, de 1944. En un dels costats es
va modelar la Marededéu. La Creu pròpiament dita va ser foradada
pel mig amb la idea que la llum hi produís una creu de
llum.
This municipality came to form a part of Girona, and it wanted
the Cross, which was of rotten wood, fruit of a mission in 1944,
to be substituted by one of stone. I left the quarry to bring out
one sole block, decide the size according to the length. The
block was longer than I had anticipated. It was necessary to
make a cross which had visual interest from whatever view point
on the crisscross of paths where it was situated. The motif was
engraved - a mission, if I do not remember wrongly, from 1944.
On one of the sides was engraved The Mother of God. The
Cross, properly speaking, was made a hole in through the middle
with the idea that the light produced an interesting effect.
