El client, en aquest cas, era la confraria dels portants del
Viacrucis de l’Abadia de Montserrat. Tot plegat fou complex
pel moment en què va tenir lloc aquest encàrrec, perquè aquesta
pràctica –la del Viacrucis- havia perdut l’interès dels temps
triomfalistes del franquisme. Aquests senyors tenien ganes de
revitalitzar-lo mitjançant la quarta estació Cirineu ajuda a portar
la Creu, tot seguint la norma existent, i de descansar després
per la resistència amb què era rebuda. El nostre contacte
va durar molt de temps, tres anys, si no ho recordo malament,
i podria parlar-ne des de la primera cita, al seu local rònec i
trist, i de múltiples xerrades en què es discutia de tot excepte
del Viacrucis. La meva paciència en favor d’un resultat millor,
juntament amb l’estima que s’establí a les trobades, van fer que
la qüestió es fes comuna i que a Montserrat estiguessin també
contents de la marxa i l’orientació que prenia. Fet i fet, tot un
èxit d’interrelació. Als dibuixos i als esbossos es pot veure el
llarg procés que va seguir aquest encàrrec.

The client, in this case, was the confraria of the portants The
stations of the Cross of the Abbey of Montserrat. Altogether it
was complex because the moment in which this commission
took place, because of this practice – The stations of the Cross
- had lost interest in the triumphalist times of Franco-ism.
These gentlemen wanted to revitalise it by means of the 4 th station
Cirineu helps to carry the cross, following the existing
rule, and resting after for the resistance with which it was
rejected. Our contact lasted a long time, three years, if I do not
remember wrongly, and I could speak of it from the first meeting,
in their rudimentary and sad premises and of multiple
chats in which everything except the stations of the Cross was
discussed. My patience in favour of a better result, together
with the love that was established at these meetings, made the
question communal and that at Montserrat they would also be
happy about the direction and orientation I was taking. All in
all, a completely successful inter-relation. From the drawings
and sketches one can see the long process which this commission
followed.
