ON/OFF LINE<br />

Chapter —Program Instructions<br />

Purpose Statement controlling the SELECT signal on the "centronics:" communication<br />

channel.<br />

Syntax ON|OFF ↔ LINE<br />

specifies the communication channel:<br />

4 = "centronics:"<br />

6 = "usb1:"<br />

Remarks Pin 13 in the Centronics/IEEE 1284 interface connector contains the<br />

SELECT signal:<br />

• ON LINE 4 sets the SELECT signal high.<br />

• OFF LINE 4 sets the SELECT signal low.<br />

If no ON/OFF LINE statement is issued, the SELECT signal will be high,<br />

that is the Centronics channel will be ON LINE.<br />

ON LINE/OFF LINE for the serial channel "usb1:" is implemented according<br />

to USB Device Class for Printing Devices v1.09, January 2000.<br />

Example In this example, the "centronics:" communication channel is disabled,<br />

while a new setup is performed on the printer by means of a setup file, and<br />

then enabled:<br />
