Forestry St<strong>and</strong>ard (AFS) audit outcomes are available on request.<br />

<strong>Report</strong>ing<br />

Forests NSW continues to publicly report at a statewide level compliance <strong>and</strong> monitoring results in its<br />

SEEing report. The compliance summary lists infringements notices issued by external regulators. It<br />

also lists the compliance checks made by Forests NSW as part <strong>of</strong> the internal monitoring <strong>and</strong> auditing<br />

strategy <strong>and</strong> associated compliance, expressed as a percentage.<br />

Review<br />

As part <strong>of</strong> the implementation <strong>of</strong> Forests NSW EMS, all operational control documents are regularly<br />

reviewed <strong>and</strong> updated in accordance with the timeframes specified within the documents, or within the<br />

Document Control Procedures, which describe the process for reviewing documents (including internal<br />

Forest Practices Circulars) for consistency with current st<strong>and</strong>ards.<br />

For example, in mid-2005, Forests NSW completed its review <strong>of</strong> the Forest Practices Code 1<br />

(Plantations Code 1995) Timber Harvesting in Forests NSW Plantations.<br />

Staff training <strong>and</strong> development<br />

DECC<br />

<strong>Report</strong>ing on the number <strong>of</strong> staff directly employed within the reporting area, categories <strong>of</strong> training <strong>and</strong><br />

numbers trained in each category is not possible in detail for DECC in the <strong>2007</strong>–<strong>2008</strong> reporting year.<br />

Updated figures to June <strong>2008</strong> on employees by classification for DECC staff, the location <strong>of</strong> staff<br />

(Regional or Metropolitan) is provided in Appendix 6 (pages 193–194) <strong>of</strong> the DECC Annual <strong>Report</strong><br />

<strong>2007</strong>–08. Information on the DECC Learning <strong>and</strong> Development Framework, Aboriginal Cadetship<br />

Program, Fire Management Training <strong>and</strong> other staff training <strong>and</strong> development programs is provided<br />

in pages 115–118 (in Chapter 5: Skilled people <strong>and</strong> smart systems) <strong>of</strong> the DECC Annual <strong>Report</strong><br />

<strong>2007</strong>–08.<br />

Forests NSW<br />

Forests NSW has published information for staff training <strong>and</strong> development, as well as number <strong>of</strong> staff<br />

directly employed by Forests NSW in the Forests NSW SEEing <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2007</strong>–<strong>2008</strong>. Social<br />

<strong>Environment</strong>al <strong>and</strong> Economic <strong>Report</strong>. Forests NSW, Pennant Hills NSW. However, reporting on the<br />

categories <strong>of</strong> training <strong>and</strong> numbers trained in each category for each <strong>of</strong> the Forest Agreement areas is<br />

not possible for Forests NSW, as reporting boundaries do not match Forest Agreement boundaries.<br />
