XX sustainable yield – The long-term estimated wood yield from forests that can be maintained from a given region in perpetuity under a given management strategy and suite of sustainable-use objectives. taxa – Categories in the biological classification system for all living organisms. Taxa (singular: taxon) are used to organise information about the natural world. tenure – Title to land as controlled by legislation. threatened species – Any species of plant or animal listed under Schedule 1 (endangered species), Schedule 1A (critically endangered species) or Schedule 2 (vulnerable species) of the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995, or Schedule 4 (endangered species), Schedule 4A (critically endangered species) or Schedule 5 (vulnerable species) of the Fisheries Management Act 1994. Threatened species, threatened populations, and threatened ecological communities profiles are available at www.threatenedspecies.environment.nsw.gov.au/index.aspx threatening process – A process that threatens, or may have the capability to threaten, the survival or evolutionary development of species, populations or ecological communities. These include processes listed as key threatening processes under Schedule 3 of the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 and Schedule 6 of the Fisheries Management Act 1994.
