MoU on the use <strong>of</strong> roads <strong>and</strong> trails maintenance <strong>and</strong><br />

Joint roads, access <strong>and</strong> maintenance arrangements have been agreed to. A draft MOU has been prepared.<br />
Discussions between the two agencies have been occurring at the local (operational) level on a case-by-case basis as the need arises.<br />
The process <strong>of</strong> local discussions has been very successful to date in meeting the desired outcome so that finalisation <strong>of</strong> an MOU is not<br />
a priority.<br />
No reporting required – Southern<br />
Forests NSW <strong>and</strong> DECC had begun discussions on the development <strong>of</strong> the MOU for the Southern region in 2004, including a set <strong>of</strong><br />
actions <strong>and</strong> operational protocols, but a formal MOU has not been drafted.<br />
Discussions between the two agencies have been occurring at the local (operational) level on a case-by-case basis as the need arises.<br />
For example, there have been some negotiations regarding access arrangements to reserves in DECC (Parks <strong>and</strong> Wildlife Group)<br />
South Coast region <strong>and</strong> Forests NSW have proposed workshops to discuss best management practices for fish passage on roads<br />
passing over or through forest streams.<br />
