Multicast Port Filtering Mode<br />

DES-3526 / DES-3526DC Fast Ethernet Layer 2 Switch<br />

The following figure and table describe how to set up multicast forwarding on the Switch. Open the<br />

Forwarding Filtering folder and click on the Multicast Port Filtering Mode Setup link to see the<br />

entry window below:<br />

The following parameters can be set:<br />

From/To These two drop-down menus allow you to select a range of ports that the filter<br />

settings will be applied to.<br />

Mode This drop-down menu allows you to select the action the Switch will take when it<br />

receives a multicast packet that is to be forwarded to one of the ports in the range<br />

specified above.<br />

• Forward All Groups - This will instruct the Switch to forward a multicast<br />

packet to all multicast groups residing within the range of ports specified<br />

above.<br />

• Forward Unregistered Groups - This will instruct the Switch to forward a<br />

multicast packet whose destination is an unregistered multicast group<br />

residing within the range of ports specified above.<br />

• Filter Unregistered Groups - This will instruct the Switch to filter any<br />

multicast packets whose destination is an unregistered multicast group<br />

residing within the range of ports specified above.<br />

Click Apply to implement changes made.<br />
