Prepares student for certification exams by reviewing<br />
physics and ultrasound instrumentation. Students<br />
focus on mathematical analysis and physics<br />

Individual Studies in Diagnostic<br />
Ultrasound • V1-12 CR<br />
Provides clinical experience in a diagnostic imaging<br />
facility under the direction of a medical<br />
sonographer, doctor of medicine or osteopathy, or<br />
associate research fellow. Prerequisite: Permission<br />

Presents theories and techniques of set and property<br />
construction and painting. Intensive lecture/<br />
lab format. Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in<br />

Stage Lighting • 4 CR<br />
Presents basic theories, techniques, and equipment<br />
in theater lighting. Intensive lecture/lab format.<br />

Introduces techniques for unscripted, extemporaneous<br />
acting. Students work individually and with<br />
others developing a situation; listening; playing<br />

Acting: Movement • 5 CR<br />
Concentrates on tuning the actor’s body. Students<br />
gain fluidity, flexibility, and agility and develop specific<br />
skills such as stage fights and mime. Students<br />
practice dramatic situations incorporating both<br />
character work and strenuous physical activity.<br />
DRAMA 153*<br />
Acting: Scene Study • 5 CR<br />
Emphasizes interpretation of the text through work<br />
on scenes and monologues. Topics include character<br />
and text analysis; rehearsal tools; playing character<br />
age; underplaying, overplaying; rhythm,<br />
timing, pacing; and achieving an objective.<br />
DRAMA 161<br />
Acting for Film & Media • 5 CR<br />
Introduces acting techniques as applied to film<br />
and other media. Students become comfortable in<br />
front of a lens and learn to convey on-camera believability.<br />
Shot styles include masters, two shots,<br />
over-the-shoulders, and close-ups. Students also<br />
take roles behind the camera.<br />
DRAMA 200<br />
Drama Colloquium • 3 CR<br />
Offers an in-depth analysis of the history and literature<br />
of the period of BCC’s annual drama production.<br />
Format includes discussion with the director,<br />
designers, and technical director of the production.<br />
Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in<br />
DRAMA 291 and permission of instructor.<br />

Contemporary Scene Study • 5 CR<br />
Examines scenes from 19th-century and contemporary<br />
