SMTP Scanning - Action

To configure the virus scanning Action(s) for SMTP traffic:
1. From the left-side menu, click SMTP > (Incoming or Outgoing).
2. Click the Action tab.

Note: Infected item - SMTP infected items are attachments and/or the body of an email
that contains a virus or other malware.
3. Choose an action for InterScan Gateway Security Appliance to take when it
detects a message containing viruses or malware:
a. Clean infected items and pass - If InterScan Gateway Security Appliance
detects a virus or malware in either the message body or the attachment, it
will attempt to clean the item. From the drop-down menu, choose a
secondary action for the appliance to take if the item cannot be cleaned:
• Quarantine - InterScan Gateway Security Appliance sends the message
and any attachments to the quarantine folder.
