Trend Micro InterScan Gateway Security Appliance M-Series Administrator’s Guide 5-8 • Remove - InterScan Gateway Security Appliance reacts differently depending on what items are infected. The table below describes the different scenarios and the way in which InterScan Gateway Security Appliance responds to them. TABLE 5-1. “Remove” scenarios Scenarios Response Email with infected body Email delivered with body removed Email with infected attachment Email with infected body and infected attachment Email delivered with attachment removed Email delivered with body and attachment removed • Pass (not recommended) - InterScan Gateway Security Appliance delivers all items to the recipient. b. Alternatively, you can choose among the following actions for the appliance to take on all messages with infected items: • Quarantine - InterScan Gateway Security Appliance quarantines the message and any attachments. • Delete - InterScan Gateway Security Appliance deletes the message and any attachments. • Remove infected items and pass - InterScan Gateway Security Appliance delivers the message and removes only the infected items. • Pass (not recommended) - InterScan Gateway Security Appliance takes no action on infected items. 4.
