Trend Micro InterScan Gateway Security Appliance M-Series Administrator’s Guide Control Manager Settings 13-6 You can manage multiple InterScan Gateway Security Appliances with Trend Micro Control Manager (sold separately). Control Manager provides aggregate reporting for all managed InterScan Gateway Security Appliances with several new, useful templates. You must first have the Control Manager product installed and activated in order to add InterScan Gateway Security Appliance as a managed item on a Control Manager
Administrative Functions server. For detailed information on how to use Control Manager, see the Trend Micro Control Manager documentation that came with your purchase of Trend Micro Control Manager. In order to manage InterScan Gateway Security Appliance with TMCM, first register each InterScan Gateway Security Appliance to a TMCM server. The Control Manager Settings screen of the Web changes appearance based on whether InterScan Gateway Security Appliance is registered to a Control Manager server. Registering InterScan Gateway Security Appliance to Control Manager InterScan Gateway Security Appliance is a standalone product and you do not need to register the device to Control Manager. However, by registering to Control Manager you gain the benefits mentioned above. All features are managed using the InterScan Gateway Security Appliance Web console. Before registering InterScan Gateway Security Appliance to a Control Manager server, ensure that both the device and the Control Manager server belong to the same network segment. To register an InterScan Gateway Security Appliance to a TMCM server: 1. Select Administration > Control Manager Settings. The Control Manager Settings screen appears. 2. To verify that the device is not registered to Control Manager, look at the status entry in the Connection Status section. When InterScan Gateway Security Appliance is not registered to Control Manager, the words Not registered appear in red. 3. In the Connection Settings section, type the name to display within Control Manager in the Entity display name field to identify InterScan Gateway Security Appliance that you are registering. (a required field) Note: Control Manager uses the name specified in the Entity display name field to identify InterScan Gateway Security Appliances. The entity display name appears in the Product Directory of Control Manager. 13-7
