Piet van der Putten was born on April 10, 1948 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. He
received his degree in Electrical Engineering from the IHBO at Eindhoven in June 1971.
He continued to study at the Eindhoven University of Technology. He performed
military service from May 1972 till September 1973.
In February 1974 he was appointed research employee at the faculty of Electrical Engineering
of the Eindhoven University of Technology in the section of Digital Systems.
He received his K1 diploma in July 1976. He participated in projects in the areas of microprocessors,
multiprogramming, computer aided design, computer design, networks,
integrated system design, programmable logic and structured analysis. As teacher and
author he was involved in various projects for post-academic education of engineers in
industry and education on integrated circuit design and system specification.
In March 1993 he received the Registered Technological Designer degree from the Institute
for Continuing Education in Information and Communication Technology at the
Eindhoven University of Technology. The thesis concerned the multidisciplinary specification
of complex digital systems. Since March 1993 he has been assistant professor in
the section of Information and Communication Systems of the Eindhoven University of
Technology. Since March 1994 he has performed a joint Ph.D. project on the specification
of reactive hardware/software systems.
Jeroen Voeten was born on April 6, 1968 in Tilburg, The Netherlands. He attended the
Blariacum College in Blerick from 1980 to 1986.
At September 1986 he started to study Technical Computing Science at the Eindhoven
University of Technology. He performed his graduation research in the area of information
systems, at the research and development department of Océ-Nederland B.V.
At June 1991 he received his master’s degree in Technical Computing Science from the
faculty of Mathematics and Computing Science. From January 1992 he worked towards
his Ph.D. on the specification of reactive hardware/software systems, at the section of
Information and Communication Systems, under supervision of Prof. ir. M.P.J. Stevens.
He started to join his work with the work of Piet van der Putten in March 1994.
As from January 1997 he has been appointed assistant professor in the section of Information
and Communication Systems.
