to the average migration intensity, Kriegers Flak
has a factor of 0.22 and 0.14 respectively related to that
at Falsterbo.
Day and night variations
The variations between day and night ß ight intensity
are clearly shown when looking at the hours individually.
Two hours after sunset, the number of ß ights
increases considerably and reaches a peak about three
hours after sunset.
During the night the ß ight remains at relatively high
and steady level.
During daytime fewer ß ights occur with a minimum
in the late afternoon. The distribution of day ß ight
between different hours showed a much smaller difference
in comparison with the night ß ight.

set is higher than during the spring ß ights.
The ß ight in the autumn shows a second peak during
the hour before sunrise, which is not the case for
the spring ß ight.
The day ß ight does not show corresponding differences
between spring and autumn.
Height distribution
During the two spring ß ights a considerably higher
number of birds ß ying below 100 metres were recorded
in comparison with the autumn ß ight; 35 % against 22
% for the Þ rst year of surveying.
