100 PRESENTATION OF THE AREA<br />
Individual weather conditions will inß uence ß ight<br />
height. On October 25, 2002 it was raining during<br />
daytime but cleared up at around 6 pm at the coast of<br />
Skåne. An intensive ß ight of songbirds set off. Two to<br />
three hours later the ß ight was observed at <strong>Kriegers</strong><br />
Flak, relatively heigh, up to 1 250 metres. At midnight,<br />

heavy fog was <strong>for</strong>med causing the ß ight to dropp to<br />

11.6.4. Bats<br />
11.6.4.1 Staging Bats<br />
The presence of bats in the projected area at <strong>Kriegers</strong><br />
Flak has not been investigated by Swedish Offshore<br />
since the long distance from shore makes it unlikely<br />
that bats reside permanently in the area.<br />
11.6.4.2 Migrating Bats<br />
Of the 18 Swedish species of bats at least Þ ve species<br />
migrate in the direction south to west between summer<br />
and winter retreat. Field studies at the Swedish coast<br />
has shown that during the autumn an out-ß ight takes
