Application- engineered microwave
parts and complex assemblies are
our specialized field. We'll manufacture
components to your prints
...or we will design and integrate
them into your application.
You can depend on J -V -M for close
coordination, guaranteed electrical
performance and "know how" that
is attested by innumerable assemblies
ranging from dc. to 40,000 mc.
now in industrial and military use.
FOR EXAMPLE:
1. Variable vane directional coupler ...
sliding vane type .. . directivity -
low VSWR.
2. Preselectormixer...S band...50 ohm
input impedance ... high Q double -
tuned ganged cavities...detector out-
put ... frequency stable from
-55° to +85°C.
Single -Gun System
(Continued from page 351)
This lens slightly bends the 2
beams toward each other without
any appreciable focusing effect.
The convergence electrode is actually
part of the beam shield which
prevents the control voltage of one
beam from affecting the intensity
or position of the other beam.
Fig. 7: Basic Apple Index system
The beam shield is a thin, flat
disc having 2 small holes with a
bridge of metal between them. It
is not a conventional accelerating
electrode, and every attempt has
been made not to have it perform
any accelerating function. Reduction
of lens action is accomplished
by operating the shield at its
average free -space potential and by
keeping it thin.
Luminescent Screen
The luminescent screen or anode
of the Apple tube consists of a
repeating array of red, blue, and
green vertical stripes. The spaces
between the lines are as wide as
the phosphor lines themselves, and
are filled in with a guard band
made of a dark colored, non -
luminescent material. The presence
of this band improves color saturation
and enhances contrast under
normal ambient light by reducing
the reflectivity of the screen. The
guard bands and phosphor lines are
placed on inside of tube face by a
photoresist technique using dichromate
sensitized polyvinyl alcohol.
FERRITES
You'll be well repaid by
getting the facts on a special
group of Pure Ferric Oxides,
developed by Williams especially
for use in the manufacture
of ferrites.
Williams Ferric Oxides analyze
better than 99% Fe203. They
contain a minimum of impurities.
They are available in a
broad range of particle sizes
and shapes. Among them,
we're certain you'll find one
that's "just right" for your
requirements. The proper application
of Ferric Oxides to
the manufacture of Ferrites
is our specialty.
Tell us your requirements ...
we'll gladly send samples for
test. Chances are good that
our Ferric Oxide "Know How"
can save you considerable
time and money. Address
