Chapter 1 <strong>Module</strong> Introduction<br />
Back Panel Connectors<br />
Blind-mate connectors make it easy to install this module. The push-on connector on<br />
the back of the module mates with the back plane bus connector inside the chassis.<br />
This 55-pin connector <strong>and</strong> the two RF connectors provide the following facilities.<br />
RF signal connection<br />
Electrical power input connection<br />
Alarm communications connections<br />
Status-monitoring communications<br />
Communications <strong>and</strong> control connections<br />
The ESD guide pin near the bottom of the back panel serves as both a guide pin <strong>and</strong><br />
an ESD ground connection. The length of the pin ensures that ground is the first<br />
electrical connection made as the module is inserted, <strong>and</strong> the last connection to be<br />
broken as the module is removed.<br />
