Site History:<br />
The Army Corps of Engineers has jurisdiction over this site, however Ohio EPA<br />
provides oversight to ensure compliance <strong>for</strong> them as per the Defense State<br />
Memorandum of Agreement . The site is subject to periodic ground water monitoring.<br />
Low level solvents in the soil are a contaminant of concern.<br />
Providence Township Dump (7349 and 7421 Manore Road, Providence Township)<br />
Site History: The Providence Township Dump <strong>report</strong>edly operated from the early 1960s until 1970<br />
as a privately owned dumpsite. The dump accepted typical household/municipal<br />
refuse but most of the wastes disposed were household appliances. Current use of<br />
the site is residential. It was closed in 1970 by order of the Lucas County Health<br />
Department.<br />
Site Investigation (1997)<br />
The site was investigated as part of the Ohio EPA Maumee Area of Concern Project<br />
Phase III Site Assessments in 1997. The site was designated as no further remedial<br />
action planned.<br />

Providence Township Dump (Between Schadel Road and Hertzfeld Road, Providence Township)<br />
Site History:<br />
In<strong>for</strong>mation does not appear to exist with respect to the actual existence or operation<br />
of this suspected landfill.<br />
Spencer Township Dump (340 Eber Rd. - between Frank<strong>for</strong>t Rd. and the Tributary, Spencer Township)<br />
(a.k.a. Eber Road Dump)<br />
Site History:<br />
Spencer Township Dump was privately owned and located along the east side of Eber<br />
Road just south of Frank<strong>for</strong>t Road. It was opened in the early 1950s and closed in the<br />
late 1960s. Evidence of buried debris exist throughout the 10 acre lot. The dump<br />
allegedly accepted any kind of waste <strong>for</strong> the right price, including such items as paint<br />
waste. Interviews of residents suggested that paint, tar and unknown drums might<br />
have been buried here along with residential waste.<br />
Site Investigation (1993)<br />
This site was brought to the attention of Ohio EPA and it was investigated. Thirty<br />
drums were found above ground with evidence of additional buried drums. The<br />
drums containing unknown substances were sampled. The site was referred to US<br />
EPA.<br />

US EPA investigated the site and took samples from 3 drums. It was found that a<br />
Time Critical Removal was not necessary.<br />
