Vehicle Recovery Guidelines<br />

Refer to the guidelines below when towing to prevent possible<br />

damage:<br />

Vehicle Recovery and Spring Brakes<br />

To connect to the <strong>Medium</strong> <strong>Duty</strong>, attach the towing chain or<br />

cable to the tow hook through the access hole in the bumper.<br />

• Use proper towing equipment to prevent damage to the<br />

vehicle.<br />

CAUTION: Connect only to the towing provisions,<br />

as described on the following pages.<br />

Connections to other structural parts could<br />

damage the vehicle. Do not attach to<br />

bumpers or bumper brackets. Use only<br />

equipment designed for this purpose.<br />

• Use a safety chain system.<br />

• Disconnect driveline.<br />

• Follow state/provincial and local laws that apply to vehicles<br />

in tow.<br />

• Do not tow vehicles at speeds in excess of 55 mph<br />

(90 km/h).<br />

• The front tow hook has a maximum working load limit of<br />

26,000 lb. (11,700 kg).<br />

Returning Vehicle to Service<br />

You will have to add lubricant to prevent damage <strong>after</strong> your<br />

vehicle has been towed.<br />
