Electrical System
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
CAUTION: Do not modify or improperly repair
the vehicle’s electrical system or power distribution
box. All electrical repairs should be performed
by an authorized Peterbilt dealer.
Improper repair or modifications will void your
warranty and/or cause serious damage to your
vehicle.
Location Of Fuses
Fuses are located inside the cab, left side, next to the driver’s
door.
Preventive Maintenance
CAUTION: Never patch fuses with tin foil or wire.
This may cause serious damage elsewhere in
the electrical circuit, and it may cause a fire.
CAUTION: If a circuit keeps blowing fuses, have
the electrical system inspected for a short circuit
or overload by an authorized Peterbilt dealer
as soon as possible. Failure to do so could
cause serious damage to the electrical system
and/or vehicle.
NOTE: If a fuse of the same rating is not available, a
fuse of a lower rating may be temporarily substituted.
You can also use a fuse from a circuit you can
temporarily do without (for example, an accessory
circuit or radio).
Fuse Inspection and Replacement
WARNING! Do not replace a fuse with one of a
higher rating. Doing so may damage the electrical
system and cause a fire.
CAUTION: Before replacing a fuse, turn OFF all
lights and accessories and remove the ignition
key to avoid damaging the electrical system.
