Instruments and Controls<br />

IGN & ACC: In this position, all circuits are energized. Panel<br />

warning lights will light and the buzzer will sound until (1) the<br />

engine is started, (2) normal oil operating pressure is<br />

reached, and (3) air brake system pressure is above 64 psi<br />

(441 kPa). In this position, the ignition key cannot be<br />

removed.<br />

IGN & START: Turn the key to this position to start your<br />

engine: it energizes the starter and retracts the solenoid<br />

valve to allow fuel supply to the engine. See page 59 for<br />

details on starting the engine.<br />

Parking Brake<br />

Before you leave the cab, apply all parking brakes.<br />

- for vehicles with air brakes:<br />

Operating Instructions<br />

1. Apply all parking brakes. Pull out the Yellow Parking<br />

Brake Control knob (1) located on the dash. In tractors,<br />

the Red (octagon-shaped) Trailer Air Supply Control<br />

knob (2) will automatically pop out.<br />

Full Truck Parking Brake Valve<br />

WARNING! Do not leave the cab without applying<br />

the parking brake. The truck could roll and<br />

cause an injury accident. Always apply the parking<br />

brake before you leave the cab.<br />
