121. They reach the street, already ringed with cops. EXT. COLLETTE’S STREET - CONTINUOUS. COLLETTE’S P.O.V. as she gets out, pounds the tarmac, bursts through the door... INT. BLACK MOUNTAIN - NIGHT. On ALLEN as he watches the car make its way down the hill. He wipes the rain-water from his face. We FOLLOW as he tracks back to his own car. INT. ALLEN’S CAR - NIGHT He starts up, swings away. CLOSE ON HIS FACE. This is his war. There are never any winners. FADE TO BLACK. BRING UP: In August 1993, the IRA called its first cease-fire for more than twenty years. Hard-liners like Gerry McVeigh were defeated and the peace process succeeded. It endures to this day. Security force informers like Collette and her mother played a vital part in bringing the conflict to a close. Many ended their lives in loneliness and squalor in a wet ditch far from home.
