GERRY

flesh and blood?
CHIEF OF STAFF
If you don’t co-operate, you’ll
be stripped of your command and
Kevin gets a free hand. It has to
be one of them. You choose who
goes first.
GERRY
(through gritted teeth)
Paddy.
CHIEF OF STAFF
We’ll make it simple: guns into
Hugo Street the day after
tomorrow. You tell Paddy, but no
one else and we need your word
that you’ll play it straight.
They stare at each other, then at MULGREW, the monster
their war has created.
INT. COLLETTE’S HOME - IN THE HALLWAY - DAY
COLLETTE wraps up against the cold. She glances at her
watch. She’s late. Her MOTHER comes out of the kitchen.
MA.
Where are you going?
Out.
COLLETTE
MA.
Who’s going to look after the
kids?
COLLETTE glances down the corridor. We can hear them
playing in the back yard.
COLLETTE
I won’t be long, Ma.
MA.
I’ve a doctor’s appointment.
COLLETTE
Can’t you take them with you? I--
MA.
Where are you going?
