8. INT. OBSERVATION ROOM OUTSIDE THE POLICE CELL - CONTINUOUS. The two detectives file out, close the door. RYAN is at the window. DETECTIVE 2 Good enough? RYAN You did fine. DETECTIVE 2 Shout if you need anything else. As the two men depart, RYAN watches her through the glass. He’s tracked this girl so long he’s already inside her head. He picks up a briefcase, hesitates, pushes open the door. INT. POLICE CELL - CONTINUOUS. RYAN takes a seat opposite her. Waits. No answer. No answer. RYAN Can I get you anything? RYAN (CONT’D) You want a coffee? He opens the briefcase, takes out two files and places them on the table. The top one has SEAN MICHAEL MCVEIGH. SHOT 8th JUNE 1973 MINISTRY OF DEFENCE -- CONFIDENTIAL stamped on the front. He moves it aside. The second is marked DAVID LIAM MCGRAW SHOT 3rd JANUARY 1993 MINISTRY OF DEFENCE -- CONFIDENTIAL. RYAN (CONT’D) It’s taken me six months to get the internal reports out of the army. You won’t find the answers you want, but maybe they’ll help. He closes his briefcase, gets up, leaves. INT. OBSERVATION ROOM - CONTINUOUS. He watches from the other side of the glass. She doesn’t move a muscle. He walks around the corner, gets a cup of coffee, goes to a desk.
