be run under IBM’s WebShare Application<br />

Server, on IBM iSeries 400 or AS/400<br />

servers, the world’s most secure and reliable<br />

HTTP servers, under OS/400. Learn how to<br />

use IBM’s Developer Tools, such as<br />

WebShare Developer Studio, and IBM’s<br />

VisualAge for Java, to develop, test, and<br />

“debug” your Java servlets before deploying<br />

them to a “live” IBM AS/400 server for use<br />

CIS 270 Systems Analysis And<br />

Design<br />

Prerequisite: Students should have completed<br />

the majority of their area of emphasis requirements<br />

before enrolling in this class.<br />

This course introduces the student to the<br />

materials, techniques, procedures and human<br />

interrelations involved in developing computer<br />

information systems. Topics include the<br />

systems approach, fact-gathering techniques,<br />

forms design, input/output, file design, file<br />

organization, various charting techniques, system<br />

audits and controls, project management,<br />

implementation and evaluation. (Spring only)<br />

CIS 280 Project Development<br />

Co-requisite: Computer Lab<br />

Prerequisite: Students should have completed<br />

the majority of their area of emphasis requirements<br />

before enrolling in this class.<br />

The purpose of this course is to allow students<br />

to complete computerized projects,<br />

demonstrating their software and programming<br />

skills. Projects will be provided by<br />

industry and vary widely as to the time and<br />

skill required to successfully complete. Each<br />

student’s specific outcomes will depend on<br />

the the skills that they bring to the course, the<br />

type of project that they participate in, and the<br />

roll they play on the project team.<br />

Technologies coursework.<br />

This course explores the social, ethical and<br />

legal implications related to the widespread<br />

use of computers in our society. Topics<br />

include the codes of behavior expected of the<br />

computer professional and the broader issues<br />

that affect society as a whole. These issues<br />

will be explored through readings, class discussions,<br />

Internet research, guest lecturers and<br />

case studies. <strong>College</strong>-level writing is expected.<br />

CIS 288 Computer Information<br />

Center Usage<br />

0.5.-5 Credits<br />

This course is for those desiring to use the<br />

Computer Information Center of the college<br />

for independent pursuit of educational goals.<br />

The amount of credit hours applied is determined<br />

by the instructor after the student’s<br />

educational goals have been assessed. In no<br />

case is the course to be less than _ credit. If<br />

you are interested in CIS 288, you must meet<br />

with the course instructor before registering.<br />

The course does not apply toward any degree.<br />

an INternet technician professional. Students<br />

will gain skills necessary for implementing<br />

and maintaining Internet, Intranet and<br />

Extranet infrastructure and services as well as<br />

development of relation applications.<br />
