MTD 211 Adobe Photoshop II<br />

This course develops and reinforces image<br />

composition techniques learned in MTD 111.<br />

Fundamentals are continuously reinforced as<br />

new design techniques are introduced.<br />

MTD 212 Adobe Illustrator II<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 112<br />

This course enables the student to continue<br />

development of digital drawing skills through<br />

practice and use of state-of-the-art design<br />

illustration software learned in MTD 112.<br />

MTD 213 Electronic Prepress<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 113 or MTD 114<br />

This course explores in detail the electronic<br />

prepress process. Students examine steps for<br />

preparing a digital file for trapping, output<br />

considerations and proofing techniques.<br />

Creating effective electronic designs and efficient<br />

use of today's software programs are<br />

also covered.<br />

MTD 215 Digital Photography II<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisites: MTD 115<br />

This course is a continuation of the beginning<br />

digital photography class. This class will look<br />

at digital photography in terms of design,<br />

color, lighting and visual composition. Course<br />

topics emphasize these aesthetics for overall<br />

thematic effects and production processes for<br />

professional digital photographers.<br />

MTD 241 Web Design II<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 141<br />

This course expands on previously learned<br />

fundamentals of HTML introducing cascading<br />

style sheets, DHTML, JavaScripts and<br />

CGI forms. Color usage and interface design<br />

principles are emphasized in this course. In<br />

this course we’ll examine Web sites that<br />

employ more complex structures, optimal site<br />

architecture and navigation necessary for larger<br />

and more complex sites.<br />

MTD 246 Web Scripting<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 141 and MTD 142<br />

This class is targeted toward multimedia<br />

authors who wish to add database management<br />

and search functionality to their Web<br />

sites.<br />

MTD 247 Web Data Base<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 142 and MTD 246<br />

This course stresses scripting languages used<br />

to create and manage Web databases. The<br />

course is targeted toward multimedia authors<br />

who wish to add database management and<br />

search functionality to their Web sites.<br />

Students will build an inexpensive, portable<br />

database solution.<br />

MTD 253 Character Animation II<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 111 and MTD 152<br />

This course addresses more advanced aspects<br />

of creating 3D characters on the computer.<br />

Students also examine facial animation, lip<br />

synchronization, scene design and lighting<br />

set-ups.<br />

MTD 255 LightWave II<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 155<br />

This course further examines LightWave’s<br />

Layout program with an emphasis on animation<br />

and animation techniques. It also touches<br />

on LightWave's Layout program for setting up<br />

scenes with advanced procedural texture maps<br />

and lighting.<br />

MTD 261 Director II<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 161<br />

This course explores the interactive process<br />

within all areas of program design, courseware<br />

authoring, delivery techniques and<br />

instruction strategies. Students are introduced<br />

to advanced Lingo scripting to provide more<br />

interactive capabilities.<br />

MTD 263 Sound Design II<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 163<br />

This course focuses on the application of<br />

sound with various multimedia software<br />

applications. Principles and techniques<br />

include MIDI orchestration and sequencing,<br />

digital multitrack recording and production,<br />

working with musicians and other talent,<br />

sound effects layering, integrated audio system<br />

production, and advanced audio<br />

mixing/sweetening. The student will explore<br />

synchronization techniques of audio with<br />

moving pictures, graphics, and animation.<br />

MTD 271 Digital Video Editing II<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 171<br />

This course looks at the more complex and<br />

advanced techniques of digital video editing.<br />

Areas of editing such as masking, filtering,<br />

blue/green screening, track mattes, and image<br />

mattes will be examined. Students will produce<br />

a movie project in this class and discuss<br />

practical ways to distribute to various audiences.<br />

MTD 272 After Effects II<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 172<br />

This course provides advanced skills and<br />

techniques for creating digital motion graphics.<br />

The course covers relevant tools and techniques<br />

as well as industry standards, specialized<br />

techniques, and additional tools and<br />

resources.<br />

MTD 273 DVD Authoring<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 161 and MTD 171<br />

This course introduces students to all aspects<br />

of DVD authoring; covering source acquisition,<br />

DVD production, interface design, organization,<br />

management and appropriate DVD<br />

output solutions.<br />

MTD 274 Game Design II<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: MTD 174<br />

This course explores more advanced features<br />

of game design. Students examine such things<br />

as integration of mainline code, subroutines<br />

and interrupts into game structure. I/O structure,<br />

playtesting and distribution are emphasized.<br />

MTD 277 Multimedia Special Topics<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: Permission of Instructor<br />

This course provides an opportunity to examine<br />

new technology and advanced techniques<br />

in computer art.<br />

MTD 282 Internships<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: Permission of Advisor<br />

This provides an opportunity for students to<br />

experience on-the-job shadowing and interacting<br />

with experts in their field of interest.<br />

Students intern at local professional businesses<br />

to prepare for the transition from student to<br />

professional.<br />

MTD 285 Independent Study<br />

3 Credits<br />

Prerequisite: Permission of instructor<br />

Independent study provides students an<br />

opportunity to teach themselves new technology<br />

skills not already taught in the classroom.<br />

Qualified instructors provide one-on-one outcome<br />

objectives review and oversee student<br />

progress.<br />
