You can earn an associate of applied science degree in construction<br />

technology with an emphasis in IBEW/NECA construction electrician.<br />

Utilize your four or five years of apprenticeship schooling and<br />

combine it with an articulation agreement between IBEW/NECA and<br />

<strong>Red</strong> <strong>Rocks</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />

The objective of the program is to allow members having served their<br />

apprenticeship program through the National Joint apprenticeship<br />

(NJATC) to earn an associate’s degree. This program allows you to<br />

combine your excellent trade skills with your academic skills.<br />

After completing the IBEW/NECA NJATC apprenticeship program,<br />

<strong>Red</strong> <strong>Rocks</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> will grant 43 credits toward the<br />

degree. You will need to complete 18 hours of general education<br />

requirements at <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Rocks</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> offered through<br />

CCCOnline to complete the degree.<br />

IBEW/NECA Members Graduation Requirements and Policy<br />

1. Proof of completion of IBEW/NECA Wireman or Outside<br />

Lineman NJATC programs.<br />

2. A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (a C average)<br />

3. Eighteen approved credit hours must be earned through RRCC<br />

and/or CCCOnline.<br />

4. File an Application for Graduation before completing your last<br />

class.<br />

5. Resolve all financial obligations to the college and return all college-owned<br />

materials.<br />

Articulation Agreement Construction Technology with Emphasis<br />

in Power Technology<br />

An associate of applied science degree is available for those currently<br />

enrolled or who have completed their apprenticeship. RRCC’s<br />

Construction Technology Electrical Program will grant 43 college<br />

credits toward an AAS degree. The degree requires a total of 61 credits,<br />

of which 18 must be taken at RRCC or through RRCC via<br />

CCCOnline.<br />

By utilizing your apprentice training and just six additional classes,<br />

you may obtain a degree online, at home and at times of your choosing.<br />

All AAS degrees will articulate with a variety of colleges and<br />

universities if you elect to pursue a baccalaureate degree.<br />
