1. System Overview
A complete typical system contains 2 big parts
• The XVS Operate side. This side contains:
• an operate PC running:
o System manager
o Message editor
o Action manager
o XVS RTD for real time data interfacing with RSS feeds and scoreboard controllers.
- Scoreboard controller
• The XVS Play side (multiple Play sides possible with one Operate). This side contains:
• A Play computer running
o XVS Play
- an image processor (e.g. D320 based or Ledpro)
- A LED display such as perimeter, cube or LED wall.
A complete typical system with standby possibility contains 3 big parts
• The XVS Operate side. This side contains:
• two operate PCs running:
o System manager
o Message editor
o Action manager
• One Data Server PC
o XVS RTD for real time data interfacing with RSS feeds and scoreboard controllers.
o XML blaster
o Data services
o Content storage
- Scoreboard controller, connected to the data server
• The XVS Play side (multiple Play sides possible with one Operate). This side contains:
• A Play computer running
o XVS Play
- an image processor (e.g. D320 based or Ledpro)
- A LED display such as perimeter, cube or LED wall.
The system comes as a total package and contains at least 3 dedicated PC platforms, one server platform
and software as well as the necessary cables and peripherals.
In a typical configuration, the Operate PC is the workstation for the system where the majority of operator
interface occurs. In a system with standby function, when the main Operate PC fails, the standby Operate
PC can take over all functionality without interrupting the event. The Playback system assembles the input
from the Operate (data server) machine along with live data and captured video and feeds it to the image
processor as one image.
