7. Troubleshoot<strong>in</strong>g<br />

7.2.4.3 Null po<strong>in</strong>ter exception when no active layout on a display<br />

Description<br />

Create a content action for a display with no active layout. When clos<strong>in</strong>g the Action Manager, a null po<strong>in</strong>ter<br />

exception is thrown <strong>in</strong> the log files.<br />

Cause<br />

Due to no active layout on the display, a null po<strong>in</strong>ter exception is thrown.<br />

Solution<br />

1. Stop <strong>XVS</strong> Operate us<strong>in</strong>g the Quit option of its system tray menu and restart aga<strong>in</strong>.<br />

2. Go to System manager and schedule a send a layout to the display.<br />

7.2.4.4 A changed preset configuration not reflected <strong>in</strong> the action<br />

Description<br />

A changed preset configuration <strong>in</strong> Director Toolset is not reflected <strong>in</strong> a created display action.<br />

Cause<br />

The content of a preset is loaded <strong>in</strong> the database dur<strong>in</strong>g the creation of the display action. This content<br />

cannot be overwritten.<br />

Solution<br />

After chang<strong>in</strong>g a preset with Director Toolset, recreate the display action <strong>in</strong> Action manager.<br />

Description<br />

Startup of RTD fails (even after a re-<strong>in</strong>stall)<br />

Cause<br />

RTD cannot read its database files. These have become corrupt.<br />

Solution<br />

1. Browse to c:\Program Files\<strong>Barco</strong>\<strong>XVS</strong> Live Data\rde\deploy.<br />

2. Delete all files with the extension .db .<br />

3. Start RTD aga<strong>in</strong>.<br />
