7. Troubleshoot<strong>in</strong>g<br />
7.2.1.3 Cannot connect to database after <strong>in</strong>stall<strong>in</strong>g video drivers<br />
Description<br />
When video drivers are <strong>in</strong>stalled via the follow<strong>in</strong>g procedure:<br />
1. Un<strong>in</strong>stall the video drivers.<br />
2. Reboot PC.<br />
3. Install video drivers for ASUS ATI X850 XT.<br />
4. Reboot PC when prompted.<br />
5. Restart <strong>XVS</strong> Operate.<br />
No connection is possible with the database.<br />
Cause<br />
Cause is unknown.<br />
Solution<br />
1. Reboot the system<br />
2. If the reboot does not solve the problem, re-configuration of the Oracle Listener is necessary.<br />
a) Go to Start → Run on the mach<strong>in</strong>e conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g the database and type <strong>in</strong> netca.<br />
3. After a few seconds a wizard will pop-up.<br />
a) Select Listener Configuration and click Next.<br />
b) Choose Reconfigure and click Next.<br />
c) Use the defaults on the rest of the pages and click Next.<br />
d) Click F<strong>in</strong>ish after the reconfiguration is completed.<br />
e) Reboot aga<strong>in</strong>.<br />

Overview<br />
• Menu bar appears at the wrong location<br />
• No events received <strong>in</strong> diagnostics panel<br />
• Display creation fails<br />

7.2.2.1 Menu bar appears at the wrong location<br />
Description<br />
When start<strong>in</strong>g up System Manager, the menu bar is wrongly positioned. The default module is not shown<br />
or the display tree is wrongly positioned.<br />
Cause<br />
This can happen:<br />
• when the registry sett<strong>in</strong>gs for the preferences of the UI layout become corrupted.<br />
• when switch<strong>in</strong>g between different local sett<strong>in</strong>gs (e.g. from English to Ch<strong>in</strong>ese).<br />
• when upgrad<strong>in</strong>g or repair<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>XVS</strong> Operate software.<br />
