7. Troubleshooting
7.2.1.3 Cannot connect to database after installing video drivers
Description
When video drivers are installed via the following procedure:
1. Uninstall the video drivers.
2. Reboot PC.
3. Install video drivers for ASUS ATI X850 XT.
4. Reboot PC when prompted.
5. Restart XVS Operate.
No connection is possible with the database.
Cause
Cause is unknown.
Solution
1. Reboot the system
2. If the reboot does not solve the problem, re-configuration of the Oracle Listener is necessary.
a) Go to Start → Run on the machine containing the database and type in netca.
3. After a few seconds a wizard will pop-up.
a) Select Listener Configuration and click Next.
b) Choose Reconfigure and click Next.
c) Use the defaults on the rest of the pages and click Next.
d) Click Finish after the reconfiguration is completed.
e) Reboot again.
7.2.2 System Manager
Overview
• Menu bar appears at the wrong location
• No events received in diagnostics panel
• Display creation fails
• Cannot select items in Layout tree using keyboard shortcuts
7.2.2.1 Menu bar appears at the wrong location
Description
When starting up System Manager, the menu bar is wrongly positioned. The default module is not shown
or the display tree is wrongly positioned.
Cause
This can happen:
• when the registry settings for the preferences of the UI layout become corrupted.
• when switching between different local settings (e.g. from English to Chinese).
• when upgrading or repairing the XVS Operate software.
