7. Troubleshooting
7.1.2 XVS fails when using VOB files with Dolby 5.1 or 7.1 sound on systems that
have Cyberlink PowerDVD installed.
Description
On a PC where Cyberlink PowerDVD is installed, XVS fails when using VOB files with Dolby 5.1 sound.
XVS Operate crashes when trying to preview such a file in the System Manager or Message Editor.
XVS Play crasheswhentryingtoplaysuchafile.
Cause
Cyberlink Power DVD comes with a codex (claud.ax) that is not compatible with XVS.
Solution
Cyberlink Power DVD is not supported and not pre-installed.
Unintall Cyberlink Power DVD.
The Elecard codecx should be used as MPEG-2 decoder (both on XVS Operate and Play)
7.1.3 Errors during upgrade
Description
If one of the components of XVS (Operate, RTD or Play) is upgraded without removing the previous version,
error messages are shown during the upgrade.
Cause
XVS software is still running during the upgrade.
Solution
Stop all components of the XVS software (Operate, RTD and Play) using the Quit or Exit option from their
system tray menu before starting any upgrade.
7.1.4 DVI resolution switch with Director Toolset in remote mode
Description
A standard XVS - 2 setup and Director Toolset configured in remote mode. Switch (change) the DVI
resolution of the source. An error is thrown: “Could not open the DDC file ...”.
Cause
Director Toolset has problems accessing DDC and flash files in remote mode .
Solution
Copy the DDC sub-folder to the XVS Play computer to the following location: "C:\Program Files\Barco\XVS
Playback\playerframework"
