7. Troubleshoot<strong>in</strong>g<br />

7.1.2 <strong>XVS</strong> fails when us<strong>in</strong>g VOB files with Dolby 5.1 or 7.1 sound on systems that<br />

have Cyberl<strong>in</strong>k PowerDVD <strong>in</strong>stalled.<br />

Description<br />

On a PC where Cyberl<strong>in</strong>k PowerDVD is <strong>in</strong>stalled, <strong>XVS</strong> fails when us<strong>in</strong>g VOB files with Dolby 5.1 sound.<br />

<strong>XVS</strong> Operate crashes when try<strong>in</strong>g to preview such a file <strong>in</strong> the System Manager or Message Editor.<br />

<strong>XVS</strong> Play crasheswhentry<strong>in</strong>gtoplaysuchafile.<br />

Cause<br />

Cyberl<strong>in</strong>k Power DVD comes with a codex (claud.ax) that is not compatible with <strong>XVS</strong>.<br />

Solution<br />

Cyberl<strong>in</strong>k Power DVD is not supported and not pre-<strong>in</strong>stalled.<br />

Un<strong>in</strong>tall Cyberl<strong>in</strong>k Power DVD.<br />

The Elecard codecx should be used as MPEG-2 decoder (both on <strong>XVS</strong> Operate and Play)<br />

7.1.3 Errors dur<strong>in</strong>g upgrade<br />

Description<br />

If one of the components of <strong>XVS</strong> (Operate, RTD or Play) is upgraded without remov<strong>in</strong>g the previous version,<br />

error messages are shown dur<strong>in</strong>g the upgrade.<br />

Cause<br />

<strong>XVS</strong> software is still runn<strong>in</strong>g dur<strong>in</strong>g the upgrade.<br />

Solution<br />

Stop all components of the <strong>XVS</strong> software (Operate, RTD and Play) us<strong>in</strong>g the Quit or Exit option from their<br />

system tray menu before start<strong>in</strong>g any upgrade.<br />

7.1.4 DVI resolution switch with Director Toolset <strong>in</strong> remote mode<br />

Description<br />

A standard <strong>XVS</strong> - 2 setup and Director Toolset configured <strong>in</strong> remote mode. Switch (change) the DVI<br />

resolution of the source. An error is thrown: “Could not open the DDC file ...”.<br />

Cause<br />

Director Toolset has problems access<strong>in</strong>g DDC and flash files <strong>in</strong> remote mode .<br />

Solution<br />

Copy the DDC sub-folder to the <strong>XVS</strong> Play computer to the follow<strong>in</strong>g location: "C:\Program Files\<strong>Barco</strong>\<strong>XVS</strong><br />

Playback\playerframework"<br />
