LYMPHOMA RESCUE PROTOCOLS
APPENDIX: COMMON CHEMOTHERAPY PROTOCOLS
Canine doses (feline doses). If a separate dose is not
given for cats, the canine and feline doses are the
same.
COP CHEMOTHERAPY
Weeks 1, 4, 7, 10, 13 and every 3 weeks if complete
remission is sustained.
Cyclophosphamide 300 mg/m 2 PO
Weeks 1–4, 7,10, 13 and every 3 weeks if complete
remission is sustained.
Vincristine 0.75 mg/m 2
Weeks 1–4
Prednisone 1 mg/kg PO daily. After 4 weeks, prednisone
is administered at a rate of 1 mg/kg PO every other
day for as long as complete remission is sustained.

Vincristine 0.7 mg/m 2 (0.05–0.07 mg/m 2 ) IV
l-asparaginase 400 mg/m 2 IM
Week 2
Cyclophosphamide 250 mg/m 2 (200 mg/m 2 ) IV
Week 3
Vincristine 0.7 mg/m 2 (0.05–0.07 mg/m 2 ) IV
Week 4
Doxorubicin 30 mg/m 2 (25 mg/m 2 ) IV
Week 5
No chemotherapy
Weeks 6–9
Repeat weeks 1–4, deleting the l-asparaginase
Week 10
No chemotherapy

remission. (For cats, if in complete remission at week
25, treatment should be continued at 3-week intervals
following the same sequence of drugs in weeks 11–25.
At the end of week 51, and if the cat continues in
complete remission, treatment is continued at 4-week
intervals substituting methotrexate for doxorubicin)

Prednisone 30 mg/m 2 PO (5 mg/cat BID PO until protocol
discontinuation)
