Select<strong>in</strong>g a desired <strong>file</strong> on a disk<br />

When <strong>the</strong>re is more than one <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong> (regardless of "BWF" or "SDII") on a disk, you can select a desired<br />

<strong>file</strong> us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> <strong>file</strong> select function, or us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> [SKIP/CURSOR] [II] keys if <strong>the</strong> “skip <strong>mode</strong>” menu<br />

is set to “File”.<br />

The follow<strong>in</strong>g describes how to select an <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong> us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> <strong>file</strong> select function. See "Chapter 9: Operations<br />

with <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong>s" for details about how to select an <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> skip <strong>mode</strong>.<br />

The follow<strong>in</strong>g assumes that <strong>the</strong>re are five "BWF" and three "SDII" <strong>file</strong>s on <strong>the</strong> disk.<br />

Tips:<br />

When sett<strong>in</strong>g a disk that conta<strong>in</strong>s both "BWF" and "SDII" <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong>s, <strong>the</strong> "01" <strong>file</strong> of <strong>the</strong> type ("BWF" and/or<br />

"SDII") set by <strong>the</strong> AUDIO FILE switch is selected.<br />

• To select a <strong>file</strong> of <strong>the</strong> same <strong>file</strong> type<br />

Follow <strong>the</strong> procedure below.<br />

1. Press <strong>the</strong> [FILE SEL] key while stopped.<br />

The current <strong>file</strong> number starts flash<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

2. Rotate <strong>the</strong> jog dial to select a desired <strong>file</strong> number, and press <strong>the</strong> [ENTER/YES] key.<br />

You can select from among <strong>file</strong>s of <strong>the</strong> same <strong>file</strong> type. For example, if "01" of <strong>the</strong> five "BWF" <strong>file</strong>s is<br />

currently selected, you can select among "01" through "05", as well as flash<strong>in</strong>g "New File?" which<br />

appears by rotat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> jog dial fully clockwise. As expla<strong>in</strong>ed earlier, "New File?" should be selected<br />

when you create a new <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong>.<br />

After select<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> desired <strong>file</strong> number, press<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> [ENTER/YES] key switches <strong>the</strong> current <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong><br />

to <strong>the</strong> selected one, and <strong>the</strong> display shows <strong>the</strong> beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>the</strong> <strong>file</strong> (ABS 0).<br />

• To select a <strong>file</strong> of <strong>the</strong> different <strong>file</strong> type<br />

Follow <strong>the</strong> procedure below.<br />

1. Set <strong>the</strong> [AUDIO FILE] switch to <strong>the</strong> desired position.<br />

For example, if you want to select an "SDII" <strong>file</strong> when a "BWF" <strong>file</strong> is currently selected, set <strong>the</strong> [AUDIO<br />

FILE] switch to "SDII".<br />

In <strong>the</strong> "FORMAT" section on <strong>the</strong> display, "BWF" is lit while "SDII" flashes.<br />

2. Press <strong>the</strong> [FILE SEL] key while stopped.<br />

The current <strong>file</strong> number starts flash<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

3. Rotate <strong>the</strong> jog dial to select a desired <strong>file</strong> number, and press <strong>the</strong> [ENTER/YES] key.<br />

You can select from among <strong>file</strong>s of <strong>the</strong> selected <strong>file</strong> type <strong>in</strong> step 1 above. For example, if select<strong>in</strong>g from<br />

among "SDII" <strong>file</strong>s, you can select among "01" through "03", as well as flash<strong>in</strong>g "New File?" which<br />

appears by rotat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> jog dial fully clockwise. As expla<strong>in</strong>ed earlier, "New File?" should be selected<br />

when you create a new <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong>.<br />

After select<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> desired <strong>file</strong> number, press<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> [ENTER/YES] key switches <strong>the</strong> current <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong><br />

to <strong>the</strong> selected one, and <strong>the</strong> display shows <strong>the</strong> beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>the</strong> <strong>file</strong> (ABS 0).<br />

When select<strong>in</strong>g an <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong>, <strong>the</strong> track <strong>mode</strong> or Fs/bit shown on <strong>the</strong> display may flashes. This shows that <strong>the</strong><br />

position of <strong>the</strong> [TR MODE] or [SAMPLING FREQ] switch does not match <strong>the</strong> selected <strong>file</strong>. In such a case, set <strong>the</strong><br />

switch appropriately to match <strong>the</strong> <strong>file</strong>.<br />
