Preview function<br />

The preview (po<strong>in</strong>t rehearsal) function allows you to preview (monitor) an edit or locate po<strong>in</strong>t<br />

assigned to <strong>the</strong> [SOURCE IN], [SOURCE OUT], [DEST IN], [DEST OUT], [CUE POINT] or [MEMORY]<br />

key.<br />

When preview<strong>in</strong>g an edit IN or locate po<strong>in</strong>t, you can monitor <strong>audio</strong> faded <strong>in</strong> from <strong>the</strong> po<strong>in</strong>t<br />

(fade-<strong>in</strong> preview). When preview<strong>in</strong>g an edit OUT po<strong>in</strong>t, you can monitor <strong>audio</strong> faded out to<br />

<strong>the</strong> po<strong>in</strong>t (fade-out preview).<br />

You can not only preview (monitor) <strong>audio</strong> from or to a po<strong>in</strong>t but also trim <strong>the</strong> po<strong>in</strong>t.<br />

• Preview at an edit po<strong>in</strong>t<br />

The follow<strong>in</strong>g procedure is assumed that <strong>the</strong> edit po<strong>in</strong>t you want to preview is stored.<br />

At <strong>the</strong> SOURCE IN or DEST IN po<strong>in</strong>t, you can preview <strong>audio</strong> faded <strong>in</strong>.<br />

At <strong>the</strong> SOURCE OUT or DEST OUT po<strong>in</strong>t, you can hear <strong>audio</strong> faded out to <strong>the</strong> po<strong>in</strong>t.<br />

1. Press <strong>the</strong> [SHIFT] key to turn on <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>dicator.<br />

2. Press a desired edit po<strong>in</strong>t key.<br />

The recorder repeatedly previews <strong>the</strong> edit po<strong>in</strong>t assigned to <strong>the</strong> key pressed until stopped.<br />

Dur<strong>in</strong>g preview, you can monitor <strong>audio</strong> via <strong>the</strong> monitor speaker or headphones, while <strong>the</strong> level<br />

meter <strong>in</strong>dicators runs from left to right.<br />

At <strong>the</strong> edit po<strong>in</strong>t where no time data is stored (i.e. "00H 00M 00S 00F 00SF", <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>itial sett<strong>in</strong>g),<br />

<strong>the</strong> fade-out preview cannot be performed. If you press <strong>the</strong> [SOURCE OUT] or [DEST OUT] key<br />

<strong>in</strong> step 2 above <strong>in</strong> such a condition, "Void!" appears on <strong>the</strong> display and <strong>the</strong> operation is ignored.<br />

3. To stop preview, press <strong>the</strong> [STOP] (or [EXIT/NO]) key.<br />

The preview function is canceled and <strong>the</strong> display returns to <strong>the</strong> previous screen.<br />
